Privacy notice

The short version

KAVOVO is a static website. We do not run advertising, we do not set tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal data. We use limited cookieless analytics to understand how the Brew Assistant works in aggregate. Newsletter and waitlist sign-ups are currently disabled, so the site does not accept email addresses.

What we collect

• No account or tracking cookie. Reading recipes, guides, lessons and Journal articles requires no account and sets no cookies from us.
• Limited Brew Assistant events, described below. These contain predefined categories, not your recipe values or free text.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data — including IP address, browser type and requested URL — to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We do not use that data to build profiles of visitors.

Analytics

We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, for limited cookieless product analytics. It tells us which parts of the Brew Assistant people use and where they stop, without telling us who they are.

PostHog is configured with cookies, autocapture, pageview capture, person profiles and session recording all off. Events are sent only at the specific points we have chosen.

Depending on the event, the properties sent are:

• entry point, whether a returning brew exists, and espresso or filter method group;
• the selected method and a predefined issue category;
• rule ID, adjustment type, direction and attempt number;
• whether feedback was helpful;
• related-content type and canonical content slug;
• validation step and predefined error category;
• the analytics schema version attached to every event.

We do not send your email address, free text, exact dose, yield, water, brew time or temperature, a full recipe, or any session ID. Brew history stays in your own browser and is never uploaded.

If you block analytics with a browser extension or a content blocker, the Brew Assistant carries on working exactly as before.

Newsletter

Newsletter and shop waitlist forms are currently disabled. KAVOVO does not collect or send email addresses to an email provider while they remain disabled.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
• Ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailinghello@kavovo.uk.

We aim to answer requests within 30 days.

Changes

When this notice changes we update the date at the top. Material changes to how we handle email addresses will also be announced in the newsletter itself.
